Lee Sweetman

We all lose people from time to time. Some live a full life and quietly fade, while others are taken in their prime, so to speak. I lost an ex this week. He was 42 and leaves two daughters behind. We were to get married five years back. Life had other plans for us, but I had hopes he would find his way one day. After talking to his oldest daughter, it seems his life had greatly improved, since our last talk. I'm glad for this. He was well loved by his children and well respected by his employees. What more could you ask for?

I'm having a harder time with this news, than I thought I would. I know I would feel sad, but I guess the reality of his young age and the fact we were only three years outside a relationship, makes it very personal for me. I loved him. I can go on and say I wish things would have worked out for us, but I know that we weren't really right for one another. I'll always remember his teasing nature and wonderful cooking. I hope he's found peace now.

May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand. ~Irish Blessing

Goodbye Angel Boy.
